MP CM reaches Out to Media on Corona

Says its time we remain united; I am doing every bit possible
BBhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan chose a Sunday to speak to the media persons of Madhya Pradesh.
In his communication with the journalists across the state that lasted around one and a half hour he appealed the scribes to create an environment of boosting morale in the residents of Madhya Pradesh with their work.
Madhya Pradesh has been one of the states in the country with rising cases of COVID-19 patients where the tally positive persons stood at 538 patients with 41 deaths so far. The administration however, has said that many persons who had died had associated diseases with history of illness.
Singh in his appeal to the journos said we acknowledge the service of the media fraternity and it has acted as a bridge between the people and the government with the information.
In a first for a CM he called upon the journalists to view the news from positive angles as it would be moral booster for the citizens in these testing times. He said we are in this together and every person is risking their life including the journalists to keep the chain of information uninterrupted.
He said the war against Coronavirus is not over, but we have controlled its spread. He said since the day of him assuming the CM office on March 23 the testing capacity of Madhya Pradesh has risen from 60 samples per day to 1, 020 samples. On Sunday, the government had sent 1,700 samples on the state plane to Delhi for sampling.


He said we are doing every bit possible, that we can and the lockdown has to be extended as a preventive measure. However, we will be relaxing a few restrictions in some areas as we cannot let the economy hamper at the same time. In Madhya Pradesh we have adopted the identification, isolation, testing, and treatment (IITT) strategy to curb COVID-19, he said.
Detailing about the three-tier strategy, he said, in first level arrangements are being made in big cities like Indore and Bhopal, which have about 80% corona infection of the state. At the second level, work is being done in 20 districts of the state, where corona patients have been found.
All infected areas have been completely sealed, so that the infection does not spread to other places. At the third level, there are 30 districts of the state without any infection yet. Full efforts are being made to ensure that Corona infection does not spread in these districts.
P Narhari, secretary, Public Relations Department were also present. It was the public relations department that had arranged the communication of CM with scribes in an initiative. Special technical arrangements in association with the NIC were put in place for the state level communiqué with the media persons.
The media persons put suggestions on insurance cover, testing capacity, lockdown and prevention measures to the CM.
