Chouhan Tasked with Restoring Trust in People of Madhya Pradesh

Corona crisis a litmus test for the fourth term CM
WWhen Shivraj Singh Chouhan took over as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on March 23, the entire state was reeling under the fear of the Corona crisis.
The biggest challenge before Chouhan was to overcome this fear and build trust among the people and restore order. He was tasked with preparing the people to follow social distancing and to take precautions to prevent corona infection.
Along with this, providing the necessary resources to the health staff was also the main objective. The equipment, masks, PPE kits, testing kits, lab facilities and doctors required for the security of the patients and their families were limited in the state. Providing training and technical resources to nurses, the paramedical staff was necessary for the suspected and infected corona patients.

Chief Minister Chouhan accepted the challenge to make the state free from the crisis. On one hand he organised a video conferencing as soon as he took the charge and reviewed the situation of all the districts on the other addressed the people of the state. He took the help of CM Helpline for holding interaction with the masses and activated the call center for assistance.
Chouhan paid special attention to increasing the resources of hospitals and medical staff. As a result, the situation of the state started to change from the seventh day of taking the charge.
Till date, Madhya Pradesh has 20,000 I.T.P.C.R. in the state. The testing capacity is 500 tests per day in 6 labs. The Chief Minister directed that this capacity should reach one thousand tests in 14 labs every day. Currently the state has 29,795 PPE kits and it is now in a position to distribute 5,000 PPE kits daily. These kits are being sent to the divisional headquarters.
The quantity of hydro chloroquine tablets is 2 lakh 25 thousand. One million tablets will be received in the next four days. Today 1.14 lakh, 50,000 N-95 masks will be distributed. There are 3, 324 Oxygen cylinders and one thousand have been ordered.
24,000 ready available beds
As a result of the speeding up of arrangements by the Chouhan, 24,000 beds are available for patients in the state. In addition, there are 394 ICU beds and 319 ventilators in Government Medical Colleges of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Rewa and Sagar and 418 ICU beds and 132 ventilators in 8 private medical colleges. Along with this, 276 isolation beds, 1261 ICU beds and 385 ventilators are available in 107 identified hospitals of the private sector. Sufficient facilities for testing Covid-19 virus have been developed in the state. Currently, 6 Testing Labs are operated at AIIMS Bhopal, GMC Bhopal, NIRTH Jabalpur, DRDE Gwalior, BMHRC Bhopal and Medical College Indore. Five other labs will start soon.
Prompt Telemedicine
Telemedicine centers have been set up in all the districts to directly communicate with the people affected by the Covid-19 home quarantine patients. Doctors can communicate directly with the affected person through video calling. A Sarthak App has been developed to monitor quarantined individuals. The monitoring the patients are being done with photo-based geo tagging method. In many districts of the state, 26 thousand 800 volunteers have given their consent to monitoring the patients on Sarthak App. In order to give immediate training to the nurses and paramedical staff, training modules are being prepared with the help of WHO and UNICEF and training is being given through the ZOOM app.

Patients Recovering Says AIIMS Bhopal Director

COVID-19: No community spread in MP Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday spoke with the director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal regarding the status of COVID-19. Sarman Singh, AIIMS Director told the CM that patients are recuperating well in Bhopal and as of now there no situation of community spread. Technical advisor for the state of Madhya Pradesh on COVID-19 Lokesh Dave apprised the Chief Minister about the arrangements for treatment. Singh informed the CM that in view of the treatment of corona, the hospitals in Bhopal, including the Hamidia JK, AIIMS, JP and Chirayu hospitals are being pooled area-wise, so that the patients in one area can get medical facilities as and when required. RSS pitches Hindu religion for MP tribal
