MP CM Pitches for Tapping Business from Local Markets

CM Kamal Nath with textile and food processing leaders in Delhi

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath on Friday inaugurated the round table discussion with the textile and food processing sector in presence of more than 70 representatives from both the sectors, in Delhi.
Delivering the keynote speech the CM said “I am here to be at the hearing end. I want you (industrialists) to tell us how Madhya Pradesh could develop in the industrial sector. At the same time remain assured we are committed for it.”
He said that Madhya Pradesh has much more to offer than any other state. We have all the land you want. 60 percent of market is around Madhya Pradesh. Logistically there is no better state than MP, he said.
The first session began with top industrialists from the textile sector. Exhorting the industrialists in the meeting he said I want you (industry leaders) to introduce to the real potential of Madhya Pradesh through this meeting. I want to sensitise you all that MP is most industry supportive state in the country:

He said the global economy is facing some issues and it may continue. Industry has to be cautious about changes taking place locally and globally. At the same time, we have to adopt and adapt to these changes.
In MP I want to translate business from domestic market to industries. Indian market is always a growing market. Market from local areas is growing, Madhya Pradesh is a tremendous market in itself, the CM said.
In direct interaction with top industry leaders of the textile sector, the CM said MP is willing to do what no ever is willing to do. “Very frankly we want to create an atmosphere of business in MP. We have skilled people and we are working more and more in terms of skill development.”
Nath added that “I am here to be at the hearing end. I want you (industrialists) to tell us how Madhya Pradesh could develop in industrial sector. At the same time remain assured we are committed to it.
Chief Secretary S.R. Mohanty delivered the welcome address at the round table discussion. He said that CM Nath had remarked that for industries to grow we cannot have one shoe fit all policy. Thus, we have designed sector specific industrial policy. We are the first state to have tax de-linked industrial policy.
He said, we are the first state of land pooling policy with 400 hectares in first phase with more to come. For power we have rooftop solar policy, separate discoms for industries. With all the incentives we have attracted around Rs 32,000 crore investment in 2019. We have a dedicated time bound clearance policy regarding approval of industries who wish to invest in Madhya Pradesh, he added.
